In a feature titled, Portland: 10 Things to Do, author Caryn Brooks guides the reader to Distillery Row: In certain hoppy circles, Portland is known as Beervana, due to its high number of top-quality microbreweries: 31 breweries operate here, according to the Oregon Brewers Guild — that's more than any other city in the world ...

Distillery Row is pleased to introduce a new distillery to the Row! Opening tomorrow, Saturday June 9th is the new Vinn Distillery Tasting Room at 833 SE Main Street, Suite 125 (just across the street from New Deal Distillery). Please give them a big welcome when you stop in to sample their unique rice-based spirits! Vinn Distillery is a family-owned company located just south of Portland in Wilsonville. It's with great sadness that we report that Integrity Spirits has closed their doors. Integrity is one of the original Distillery Row founders and has always been a favorite amongst locals for their unique spirits and quirky personalities. If you're a fan of their most popular products, 12 Bridges Gin or Trillium Absinthe, scour the local liquor stores and get what you can before it's gone for good! While the loss of Integrity is sad news for us here on the Row, we're consoled by the fact that momentum on Distillery Row is picking up speed. In the next month we'll be announcing all new members of Distillery Row, and there will be a new 2012 Distillery Row Passport which will include our new members and will make touring Distillery Row even more fun, easy, and affordable. Thanks for helping make Distillery...

Thanks again to everyone who participated in our first series of Craft Distilling Appreciation Classes. More than twenty spirits enthusiasts in two different tracts learned about the ins-and-outs of craft and small-batch distilling at New Deal Distillery, Stone Barn Brandyworks, and House Spirits. Tastings, including samples at different points in the distilling process (heads or tails everyone?) were shared throughout, along with explanations as to why and how the flavors came to be at that point. Tiki drinks were sampled at Deco (now Eastside Distilling) at the end of the first Sunday session. And the whole event finished with a stellar range of hand-made cocktails at House Spirits. If you missed this first set of classes, don't worry we will definitely be offering them again! [gallery link="file" columns="4" ids="842,843,844,845,846,847,848,849,850"]...

That being said, Portland is packed with diners, brew pubs and nightclubs which makes it hard for visitors to navigate their way around the seedy dives and tourist traps to find the best local hang outs. Time and time again, these following spots have shown many thirsty travelers a great night in one of the most forward cities in America. On the Row: If you tend to enjoy spirits over craft breweries, Portland is home to your kind of crawl. Each weekend from 12-5pm a line of distilleries known...
